JONESVILLE, NC (LOOTPRESS) – Residents in Jonesville and the surrounding area will soon be serviced by a new EMS station. This new facility, located on the same property as the existing building, will replace the current Medic 2 at 1012 Catherine Ln. Jonesville, NC.
The existing building has housed an EMS crew continuously since it’s construction in 1983. It also has a history of being used as a polling place for the South Knobs Precinct. The years have taken a toll on the current facility which currently experiences drainage issues and deterioration that comes with round the clock occupancy over 40 years.
The new building will house paramedics so they can respond to emergency medical calls 24 hours a day. In addition, the facility will contain enclosed space for two ambulances with pull-through access to reduce the risks that come with backing. One ambulance will be stationed at the facility full-time with space for a spare ambulance when required.
The new construction is scheduled to be completed in November 2024
