PARKERSBURG, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A Wednesday afternoon vehicle accident has claimed the life of a 19-year-old motorist according to law enforcement.
The Wood County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed that a fatal vehicle crash which occurred around 12:13 pm today in the 3800 block Old St-Mary’s Pike is currently under investigation.
Upon arrival at the scene of the accident, responders discovered a male who had been ejected from the involved vehicle and was later pronounce dead on the scene.
The male had reportedly been driving north on Old St Mary’s Pike before running off the road, at which point he appears to have overcorrected the vehicle which then collided with the opposite bank.
The male, identified as Hunter Cole Watson – Date of Birth: January 4th, 2005 of Birnham Dr, Parkersburg WV. – reportedly was the only occupant of the involved vehicle.
Watson’s family has been made aware of the events which transpired, according to the Wood County Sheriff’s Office.
First responders on the scene included the Waverly Volunteer Fire Department, Deerwalk and Eastwood Volunteer Fire Departments, Wood County Crash Team, and St Joe Ambulance Service.
