Frances “Dolly” Kay Alexander of Eccles was carried away by angels while surrounded by loved ones on Wednesday, November 2, 2022
Born December 15, 1952 in Anjean, WV, she was the daughter of Ira and Connie Sluss of Mount View, WV.
Frances over the years resided in Alexandria VA, and Chantilly VA, where she worked for the FBI and would meet and marry her husband Frederick A. Alexander and raise her family. She later returned to Mount View, WV to help be a caregiver for her late parents until she moved to Eccles WV, where she lived out the rest of her life.
Many would tell you that if you wanted to know where the good thrift stores were to ask Dolly, that’s where she loved spending time in her later years. She was always looking for a great find for someone else. She cared deeply for her family and neighbors. And always ensured that every child who crossed her threshold was safe, healthy, happy, and well feed. She showed what unconditional love was to so many over the years.
Frances is survived by her son, Paul A. Alexander and wife Shannon Alexander of Stephens City VA, daughter, Ava Farley-Alexander of Eccles WV, and grandsons Gavin and Caelan. Sisters, Cindy Cox and Estie Farley, brothers, Jhonnie Sluss and his wife Nellie, James Sluss and his wife Shirley, Ira (Junior) Sluss and his wife Christine and brother-in-law Randy Alexander and his wife Helena. Many special nieces and nephews also survive
Funeral services will be held at the Rose and Quesenberry Funeral Home Shady Spring Chapel on Friday, November 11, 2022 at 11 AM with Rev. Valerie Amsdill officiating. Burial will follow at the Sluss Cemetery, Mount View, WV. Friends may visit from 6 PM until 9 PM on Thursday at the funeral home.
