UPDATE: BECKLEY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Tuesday morning’s assembly of the Raleigh County Commission was a terse affair, with a number of topics of discussion being addressed succinctly over the course of the meeting.
One agenda item which has seen a fair amount of local discussion in the days leading up to the meeting has been item 5.4: Approval of placing “In God We Trust” on county vehicles.
Following a successful motion to approve Thrasher Engineering Services for the Ghent Broadband project for the amount of $1,158,850.00, item 5.4 saw succinct presentation and approval with little in the way of discussion.
Subsequent agenda items pertaining to the Clear Fork Rails to Trails project also saw approval and passage through the commission.
Agenda item 5.7, the approval of order to remove personal representative Brandy Dickens from the estate of Patricia Cole, did not progress through the commission, however.
Commissioner Duckworth, in a brief exchange with Commission President Dave Tolliver, conveyed that the item was apparently no longer on the docket.
“That is off, that is cancelled,” said Duckworth, before the session continued forward.
The final non-recurring item on this week’s agenda, item 5.8: the approval of Courthouse Facilities Improvement Authority Grant Application, was touched upon and looked to “provide some extra heating in the courthouse.”
This item was approved as well, and proceedings were concluded shortly after.
