WASHINGTON (LOOTPRESS) – Following the U.S. Supreme Court decision to overturn Roe v. Wade on June 24, 2022, Congresswoman Carol Miller (R-WV) led 46 of her colleagues in introducing a resolution in the U.S. House of Representatives to designate June as the “Month of Life.”
“As a mother and grandmother, I know the joy that children bring to a family,” said Congresswoman Miller. “All children, no matter their age, should be cherished, and the Supreme Court’s decision reaffirms that. I am thrilled to stand alongside my colleagues to celebrate this historic moment and designate June as the ‘Month of Life.’ I urge my colleagues to pass this resolution immediately to honor the unborn and stand up for life.”
The recent U.S. Supreme Court ruling in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization overturned Roe v. Wade, returning the issue of abortion to the state level. Congresswoman Miller’s resolution would commemorate this decision by designating June as the “Month of Life”, as well as –
- recognize the importance of reaffirming the dignity of human life;
- support life both inside the womb and outside the womb as well as the pregnant mother;
- commit to surrounding mothers, fathers, and children with the resources and tools they need to survive and thrive; and
- encourage families and communities to stand by ready to assist mothers, fathers, and children.
The resolution is supported by Americans United for Life, Concerned Women for America Legislative Action Committee, March for Life, Family Research Council, Heritage Action, and Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America.
