(LOOTPRESS) – Monthly iron and steel production declined slightly in most of the major steel-producing regions and countries from May to June: Europe, -1.1%; North America, -0.9%; Japan, -3.5%; South Korea, -1.6% and China -5.6%.
Month over month production increased in South America by +2% and India by +2.1%. Total estimated global steel production decreased by -3.7% from May. Excluding Chinese production, adjusted global steel production decreased by -1.2%.
Compared to the same time in 2020, total iron and steel production is up +22.4% in Europe, +17.2% in North America, +13.5% in South America, +30.2% in India, +6.7% in Japan, +4.1% in South Korea and +11.1% in China. Global steel production is up +13.3% and adjusted world steel production (excluding China) is up +16.4%.
