CHAPMANVILLE, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A Danville man faces several charges following a traffic stop last Tuesday during which a litany of illegal substances were discovered in the vehicle.
The Chapmanville Police Department reports that on Tuesday, November 1, 2022, Patrolman D.M. Christian, Patrolman M.A. Honeycutt, and Sgt. E.C. Ferrell conducted a traffic stop at the Chapmanville Inn in Logan County.
During officers’ exchange with the driver – identified as Emery Keith Branham of Danville – verbal consent was given for a search of the vehicle.
The subsequent search turned up drugs of various categories, as well as multiple handguns and an amount of cash.
Specifically located in the vehicle by officers were 280 controlled pills of various schedules, 1.3 grams of suspected Heroin/Fentanyl, 12.1 grams of suspected marijuana, 3.4 grams of suspected methamphetamine, a Ruger 9mm handgun, a Ruger .380 handgun, and approximately $141.00 in U.S. currency.
Emery Keith Branham of Danville faces charges of Possession with Intent to Deliver a Schedule II Controlled Substance, Possession with Intent to Deliver a Schedule IV Controlled Substance, Possession with Intent to Deliver a Schedule V Controlled Substance, and two counts of Prohibited Person in Possession of a Firearm.
The defendant was arrested following the stop, taken into custody, and transported.
