Margaret Jo “Peggy” Hughes Swaney, 67, of Thornton Avenue, Princeton, died Thursday, August 5, 2021, at Princeton Community Hospital. Born January 19, 1954, in Salem, WV, she was the daughter of the late Hayden gene Hughes and Wilma Jean Woodford Hanback. Peggy was a loving wife, daughter, aunt and friend. She had worked as a CNA at Glenwood Retirement Village at Hardees, enjoyed her flowers and was of the Methodist faith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband Richard Norman Swaney. Left to cherish her memory are her step-son, Richard Swaney of Kegley; Two step-grandchildren, Krystin Robinette and Joshua Swaney; Two brothers, Robert Hughes and William Hughes both of VA; Several nieces, nephews and friends also survive. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, August 10, 2021, from the Burns Wornal Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton with John Puckett officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton. Friends may visit with the family from 10:00 A.M. until the service hour at the funeral home.
