CHARLESTON, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Mountaineer Food Bank has announced plans to host a food distribution event geared toward residents of the West Side Charleston area.
The announcement follows an extensive period of frustration for area residents following a widespread gas outage for which Governor Jim Justice on Wednesday declared a State of Emergency.
“In light of the current uncertainty caused by the gas outage, we’re here to support you,” said Mountaineer Food Bank in a statement. “If you find yourself in need during this time, we extend an invitation for you to join us.”
The distribution event will take place on Friday, November 17, 2023, from 10:00am to 1:00pm at the North Charleston Rec Center located at 2009 7th Avenue in Charleston, WV.
The recently announced distribution was not initially included as part of Mountaineer Food Bank’s weekly food distribution schedule, which was announced on Monday.
Though a Kanawha County stop was announced as part of the schedule, the distribution was a Tuesday morning event held at Elkview Church.
