BECKLEY, W.V. (LOOTPRESS) – Beginning on Monday, November 1, the Raleigh County Public Library will be waiving fines in exchange for pet supplies. The supplies will be given to the Raleigh County Humane Society when the collection period is over.
The offer will last until November 13, 2021, according to Amy Stover, Director of the Raleigh County Public Library.
The exchange rate is as follows:
- 2 cans of cat food equals $2 in waived fees
- 1 bag of kitty litter equals $5 in waived fees
- 1 bag of dry pet food equals $1 in waived fees
- 1can of dog food equals $2 in waived fees
Stover expressed her excitement for the library to support the humane society again this year.
“Like us, they’re a nonprofit agency. We have the capacity to assist them, and it doesn’t cost us anything it just helps the community.”
Those who do not have any library fines but would still like to support the humane society are still welcome to donate. Supplies should be dropped off at the Raleigh County Public Library- located at 221 North Kanawha Street in Beckley.
