BECKLEY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Tuesday’s Regular Session of the Raleigh County Commission was a brief affair which touched upon a number of issues, including the reappointment of several individuals to the Coalfields Expressway Authority.
Danny Barr and Commission President Dave Tolliver were among those reappointed to the Expressway Authority, in designations which will expire on 7/12/2026.
Kevin Reedy also saw reappointment to the Expressway Authority, in a designation which will expire on 7/12/2025.
The authority, which was authorized by Congress in 1995 and established by the West Virginia Legislature in 1996, works to improve transportation throughout the Mountain State, and promotes the completion of the Coalfield Expressway.
The proposed highway, also known as route 121, would run 108 miles from Beckley, West Virginia to Pound, Virginia.
