CHARLESTON, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The second annual Holly Jolly Brawley event has officially gotten underway in Downtown Charleston.
The two-day event got going at 12:00 noon on Friday with music from DJ EJ Price in the City Center and the opening of the Holiday Market.
The day will additionally see performances from BRRO at the City Center from 4:00 pm to 6:30 pm, as well as the Holly Jolly Brawley Ribbon Cutting at 5:00 pm, the Christmas Tree Lighting in the City Center in Slack Plaza at 6:30pm, and the City Center Light Show Premier at 6:45 pm.
Santa will also make an appearance on Summers Street from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
Saturday will feature several holiday-themed activities as well, including the Holiday Market which will open at 12:00 noon, performances from DJ EJ Price at the City Center from 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm and the Red Line Band from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at the City Center.
The evening will conclude with the presentation of the Holly Jolly Brawley Light Show at 6:00 pm.
Performers, vendors, and activities are scheduled throughout the weekend, with precautionary street closures having been implemented beforehand to ensure the safety and enjoyment of those participating.
Closures began at 12:00 pm noon on Wednesday, November 23 and will remain in effect until Saturday, November 26 at 11:00 pm.
Streets affected by the changes include Lee Way, Capitol Street from Quarrier to Lee Street, and Summers Street from the Summers Street Parking Garage entrance to Lee Street. The Summers Street Parking Garage will be accessible only by Quarrier Street.
Additionally, the City of Charleston announced that parking in all city-owned garages and meter spaces in Charleston will be free from Friday, November 25 – Sunday, November 27.
