SOPHIA, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The Town of Sophia announced its 2023 Spring Cleanup schedule on Thursday.
The Public Works Department will begin pickup collection on Monday, May 15, 2023, and will continue through Thursday, May 18, 2023, with different areas throughout the town designated for each of the four days of collection.
Collections begin at 8:00am on each scheduled day and items should be placed outside within five feet of the curb by 7:00am.
While items such as washers dryers, stoves, freezers, and refrigerators will be accepted, the town will not accept any auto or truck tires, hazardous; toxic or infectious waste; petroleum products such as oil and gasoline; yard waste such as tree limbs, leaves, logs, and brush; demolition materials such as used in construction; lead acid batteries; liquid such as paint, paint cans, thinners, pesticides and insecticides, TV’s and computer monitors.
Return visits will not be made to areas in which collections has been completed.

Please do not put items out any earlier than 5 days before scheduled pickup.
