RANDOLPH COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A motor vehicle accident in Randolph County has left one person with minor injuries.
According to the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office, 911 dispatched a one-vehicle motor vehicle accident near 2043 Buckhannon Pike Road on Friday.
The vehicle was driven over an embankment and landed on its top. At the time of the call, the driver was entrapped. The Coalton Fire Department, EMS, and Randolph County Deputy Pingley responded to this location.
A winter weather advisory for heavy snow was in place at the time of the call.
Prior to the arrival of emergency crews, the driver was able to leave the vehicle and await help. After Deputy Pingley arrived on the scene, he observed vehicle tracks in the snow that came from this vehicle.
The tracks show that the rear of the vehicle had fishtailed, causing the driver to lose control. The vehicle went off the road and the driver was unable to correct the trajectory of the vehicle.
The driver went over an approximate 30-40-yard embankment and landed on its top. The driver suffered minor injuries and was wearing a seatbelt, which contributed to leaving the wreck relatively unscathed.
