RITCHIE COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – More details have become available regarding the arrest of a West Virginia State Trooper last Friday who was charged with domestic battery and felony strangulation.
According to a criminal complaint, on December 5, 2022, West Virginia State Trooper Joseph Comer is alleged to have grabbed a female victim around the neck after a child exchange in the parking lot of a hotel in Ellenboro in Ritchie County. The incident left bruises on both sides of the victim’s neck, showing signs of choking strangulation.
Later, on December 12, 2022, at the same hotel in Ellenboro, Comer is alleged to have struck the female victim in the head with a sippy cup which the victim alleged blacked her eye.
On Friday, February 24, 2023, the West Virginia State Police announced that Mr. Comer turned himself in to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office and was arraigned in Jackson County Magistrate Court. He then posted a $30,000 bond.
