On July 29, 1969 Barbara Ann Pritchard met Jerry W Dunbar at a party in
McArthur, WV. Three years later, on July 29, 1972, she became Barbara Pritchard
Dunbar and thus their love story began. However, their love story came to an end
after nearly 49 years together, when she was called home on June 11, 2021 to be
with the greatest love of her life, her Lord Jesus Christ.
During their marriage, they were blessed with a son and daughter, J.W.
(Cristie and granddaughter, Reese) and Christy (Derick and granddaughters, Tori
and Paris).
Barbara was truly the definition of a devoted wife, loving mother and doting
grandmother. She touched so many lives with her kind strength and Godly wisdom.
Barbara gave her life to the Lord at an early age, and thus began her greatest
love story. She was the pastor of Wharton Church of God and Pax Church of God,
where she dedicated nearly 17 years of service, and also taught a weekly Bible
study at the Wildwood House for over 25 years. Barbara reached numerous people
with her teachings of her greatest love; her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She
was a "Prayer Warrior" and when she prayed, you could feel that she had reached
the streets of glory.
Barbara was preceded in death by many loved ones, including her father, Bill
Pritchard and her mother, Elizabeth "Betty" Phillips Pritchard, whom she had
missed greatly.
Other than her husband and her children, Barbara is survived by another love,
her brother, Bill, whom she held close to her heart. She is also survived by
numerous family, friends, and church family, near and far.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, June 15, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at the
