Jack Edward Vest of Beckley, WV passed away at Bowers Hospice House in Beckley Saturday, October 1, 2022.
Born on July 15, 1931, in Jumping Branch, he was the son of the late Oral Lee Vest and Dexter Lowe Vest.
Jack was a proud Navy Veteran who served as a Boatswain Mate aboard the US Duel for 45 months. He was last employed as a Master Plumber at Maxwell and Keyser Plumbing and Heating for over 50 years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and sharing his love of Country Music with his friends including his oldest friend, Bill Shannon. He was a member of VFW Post and the American Legion Post in Beckley.
Jack was of the Baptist faith. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his daughter, Cindy Carol Vest, and a stepson David Glen White; by his brothers, Clyde, Richard and Roger and his sisters Elnora and Sharon and their spouses.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Nancy Carrol Wood Vest; two brothers, Donald and Jerry, and Jerry’s wife Ann; a grandson Adam White and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be conducted at the Rose and Quesenberry Peace Chapel in Beckley on Wednesday, October 5, 2022, at 2 PM, with Bill Vest as the presiding minister. Entombment will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens Mausoleum at Prosperity, WV. Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the services at the funeral home.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
