RIPLEY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Four Jackson County Sheriff’s Department Officers were elevated in rank last week following the retirement of two senior supervisors.
Jackson County Sheriff, RH Mellinger reports that the JCSD held interviews and exams in an attempt to determine appropriate replacements for two roles left vacant within the department following the retirement of two supervisory officers.
As a result of these efforts, two officers were promoted to the rank of Lieutenant and two were promoted to the rank of Sergeant.
Brandon Williams and Bryan Varney were each promoted to the rank of Sergeant, while Gary Baldwin and Camron Saltsgaver were promoted to the rank of Lieutenant, respectively.
“Congratulations, Gentlemen,” said Sheriff Mellinger on Thursday. “You are the future of this department with high expectations for leadership and growth. We are proud of everything you do for Jackson County.”
