PINEVILLE, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The town of Pineville held its municipal elections on Tuesday, June 14, 2022.
Unofficial results confirm that Toby Lane garnered 93 votes in the mayoral race against Jason Smyth’s 86 votes. The race comes after sitting Mayor Mike Kodak declined filing to retain his seat.
Town Recorder Vicki Knight Clay maintained her position, running unopposed and commanding 131 votes.
The race for town council saw one fresh face on the ballot, along with four incumbents. Sonja Davis ended the race with 124 votes, Mike Clay with 123, Debbie Bowling with 142, and Debbie Wiles with 137, while Brian Mitchell received 131 votes for his council bid.
It should be noted that results are unofficial until the canvass is held at the Town Hall on Tuesday, June 21 at 8:30am.
These results are pending provisionals and incoming absentee ballots, along with 6 early voting provisional ballots and 16 Election Day provisional ballots which were cast.Â
